Company

The Benefits Store is a broker of both health insurance programs and related insurance coverages, including Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Medicare, and other services. The Benefits Store is also licensed to provide Third-Party Administration services to California Local Real Estate Associations. Its services primarily encompass premium billing, collection, and remittance. It also provides administration services for Cafeteria Section 125 plans, including Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Challenges

Before using SignNow eSignature API, the Benefits Store relied on DocuSign eSignatures. However, the value they were getting for the cost of services wasn’t satisfactory. Jake Schroeder, the company’s VP of Operations, was looking for a more flexible solution that could easily integrate with the company’s existing software stack and help them enroll more members in less time. Cost-effectiveness was among the highest priorities.

Enter SignNow

After testing a few eSignature products, Jake came across SignNow, “We found SignNow to be better priced and exactly the solution we needed,” Schroeder recalls. “SignNow has significantly accelerated our enrollment completion process – by a day or two, depending on each specific member.”

Integration

The Benefits Store operates on a proprietary billing/enrollment system that draws data from customers’ online application forms. After receiving an application, the company sends an EDI file to their carriers who collect data via their own billing/enrollment systems.

“SignNow sits in the steps right before the application is uploaded into the billing system,” Schroeder notes. Thus, customers can sign documents without leaving the applications they’re using, free of interruption. They don’t even have to register an account. Once the iFrame opens, documents are loaded into the eSignature interface for seamless signing, and every party receives a copy of the finalized document.

Result

SignNow’s powerful API allows The Benefits Store to integrate eSignatures into their online application process where new members have to enter their personal data and upload an enrollment application. The submission of a signed form automatically triggers an enrollment confirmation. As a result, members can enjoy the simplicity of the signature workflow — it takes only a few clicks to sign the documents and get their enrollment confirmation with a copy.

“Now, members can simply sign the documents and receive an enrollment confirmation along with a copy of their application.”
