How a Professional Basketball Team Uses SignNow to Collect Data and Signatures Online and at Events

SignNow gives the staff of the Santa Cruz Warriors a digital solution for securely collecting signed agreements and waivers in-person

Who

The Santa Cruz Warriors are the 2017-18 NBA G League Franchise of the Year, 2015 NBA G League champions and the NBA G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors (NBA Champions in three of the last four NBA seasons). The Warriors’ organization communicates with a variety of clients and organizations on a daily basis and plays their home games at Kaiser Permanente Arena.

This relationship with one of the leading healthcare providers in the US means the Warriors are often involved in partnered activities within the medical industry, requiring them to process a number of different forms and waivers on a weekly basis.

The Santa Cruz Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in Santa Cruz, California. They are the NBA G League affiliate of the Back-to-Back NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.

The Problem

The Warriors needed an e-signature solution that was fast, secure and able to be used just as efficiently in-person as it is online. Before, staff members relied on paper documents to collect signatures for agreements, waivers and permission forms while on the ground at events. They needed a solution that they could use to quickly generate new waivers, add personal information to them, get them signed and keep them organized and stored in a secure environment that they could easily access when needed.

The Solution

After trying out SignNow’s intuitive interface, The Santa Cruz Warriors rolled out SignNow for their organization in a few weeks all on their own. “We just got signed up for SignNow, we couldn’t be more happy to work with our clients using this technology,” said Aaron Luther, Manager of Corporate Partnership Sales. They use SignNow to complete all manner of forms including season ticket sales and renewals, catering/concessions, sponsor agreements, supplier contracts, equipment order forms, hospitality agreements and VIP events.

Benefits

Kiosk mode allows the Warriors staff to collect signatures in-person.

Before, during and after events, the Warriors staff are busy processing a variety of forms. Whenever a staff member was going from point A to point B, they were forced to carry a jumbled pile of papers with them to collect client info and signatures. “The ability to utilize SignNow at Warriors games and events is great because now we can eliminate paper waiver forms, which streamlines our process and made it more user friendly,” said Jordan Masayko, Santa Cruz Warriors Manager of Event Operations. Using their iPads with SignNow signing links, permission waivers from fans and parents of school children can be collected and stored in seconds using the SignNow mobile application that is capable of working while offline.

Complete HIPAA compliance with advanced security features

The Warriors relationship with Kaiser Permanente means they are often involved with securing personal medical information in conjunction with events taking place at Kaiser Permanente Arena on the court. “It was very important that any solution we went with had top notch security and complied with all medical industry regulations.” said Chris Murphy, President of the Santa Cruz Warriors. “The health information of our athletes, staff and anyone we work with outside our organization has to be protected at all times,” he added. SignNow operates with SOC 2 Type II certification and features full GDPR and HIPAA compliance, alleviating any concerns for security and industry-specific regulations the Warriors’ organization had.

Conclusion

SignNow allows the Warriors staff to spend less time on manual paperwork processes and more time with clients and fans. “We’re really excited to be partnering with SignNow. We’ve been able to work with all our other sponsors in a few different ways in order to get our contracts signed much faster and much more efficiently. And we’re really excited about the possibilities to come,” said Murphy.

Whether collecting health information, agreeing on terms with a new sponsor or organizing charity events, the Warriors staff can do it all in seconds, in person or online, without having to worry about the security of their information.
